RECYCLED BRASS

Over 20 years ago I bought a large brass meditation gong in Berkeley. It was made in Taiwan. I used it at a meditation workshop in Eau Claire, WI that included Vietnam vets. One of them examined the gong and said: "Do you know where Taiwan gets most of its brass from?" No, I said. He said: "Vietnam". With a smile he asked "Do you know where Vietnam got most of its brass?" After several seconds, a dim light bulb went on inside me. From the US Army. Old shell casings had become a meditation gong--- Blessed are the peace-makers.
