Sunday, Feb. 28, 10:30am: "Nakoma Day" Artist, performer and historian of Native peoples, will speak about Native American spirituality. Dressed in full tribal regalia, Nakoma will provide a story time for children. After service a luncheon will be served and starting at 1pm, Nakoma's art works will be on display and available for low-cost purchase.  Click here to view the flyer

Sunday, March 7, 10:30am:  "The Power of Practice"   Rev. Ted Tollefson
Are you more likely to meditate or write a letter to the editor? Do you begin by changing your self or changing the world?  Many UU's have a preference for spiritual practice or ethical practice.   What might happen if these two powerful practices were combined?  With inspiring stories  from the lives of Gandhi, Martin Luther King and Ansen sui Ki of Burma.

12 noon: a special showing of "Anna's Playground", an award-winning film about children in war zones by UUSRF member Jillian Nodland.  Don't miss this opportunity to expand our circle of compassion.   Do children have a right to safe places to play?

UU Studies 
beings about 12:30  in the "open office".  We continue our reflections on A Chosen Faith with  chapters 9 and 10 "Beyond Idolatry" and "Mind & Spirit". Hand-outs and treats provided. 

Sunday, March 14 10:30am: "Dialogue with the past"  Bruce McBeath
Long-time UUSRF member Bruce engages us with our own history.  Come-outers will be challenged to consider what we brought with us from Christian beginnings, and what we still hold dear in that personal journey.


Sunday, March 21, 10:30am:  "Spring-Steen Celebration"  Rev. Ted Tollefson  Join us to celebrate spring equinox and the music of Bruce Springsteen, aka,  "the Boss".   Music and vocals  by Thomas R. Smith with opportunities for us to sing along on the choruses.

12 noon: 2nd Annual Chilli Cook-off!  Get a big bowl of red, brown, or white chilli and corn bread. Vote in this year's cook-off.  Will  Steve "Tex" Miller win the shoot out for a second year in a row? Or will the prize go  to a White Chilli,  Bufflaoe Chilli, or a Vegetarian Chilli?  Lots of hot sauces and sour cream for those who like it hot or cool.

Sunday, March 28, 10:30am:  Jeffry J. Wark
Jeffry J. Wark of White Bear UU Jeffrey will explore the rich traditions and biblical history embodied in the elements of the seder, exploring his own Jewish beginnings on the first day of Passover 2010, and how Judaism led him to UUism.
