When the outward arc of ethical practice
meets the inward arc of spiritual practice,
we enter the field of radical hospitality:

Welcoming the stranger as guest,
inviting them into the circle of friendship
we become a community
of open doors, open hearts and open minds.

Reaching out to the marginalized, the outcast, the other
enlarging the circle of compassion
we become a community
where no one need be 'the enemy.'

Affirming common ground,
valuing our differences
we become who we truly are------
friendly as a puppy,
kind to all our kin,
grateful in our whole bodies
filled and transformed by the power of love.
